Dear Parents/Guardians:           (A Glimpse at PBGRs Presentation)

Last year I shared some information with you about the Board of Regents Proficiency Based Graduation Requirements for all Rhode Island high school students and their implications for Times2 Academy’s diploma system. In an attempt to update you on the structures and supports that we have created and are refining to ensure that your children are prepared to meet the Department of Education’s requirements, I would like to convene a meeting for all 9th and 10th grade parents and students to go over the specifics of our expectations.

December 6th is the date that I have set aside for this important presentation of information. We will gather in the school’s cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. During this hour-long meeting I hope to communicate in clear terms what your child must do to meet proficiency for graduation as defined by the state, answer any questions you might have, and enlist your support as we redesign our instruction to accommodate these new changes.

Although I cannot force everyone to attend this meeting, I can tell you that the information that will be conveyed will assist you in helping your child meet RIDE and Times2 Academy Graduation Requirements. Needless to say, the more knowledge you have of the requirements, the more assistance you can provide for your child. Please do your best to attend.

Should you have any questions regarding this correspondence, please do not hesitate to contact me at your earliest convenience.

Cordially,

Dr. Stanley Thompson

Executive Director and Academic Dean
