Third Grade Newsletter  ~  January 2008

Hello and Happy New Year!  The third grade team hopes this newsletter finds you rested and well after the holiday break. 

Mrs. DeFusco’s class is finishing up work on the regions of the United States social studies unit.  They are also preparing to publish their first informational report of the school year. 

Mr. Ricci’s class has been hard at work writing poetry about many topics, using several different forms (such as a cinquain, a five lined non-rhyming poem, and a clerihew, a four lined rhyming poem about a famous character or person). 

Mrs. Nunez’s class is hard at work on their persuasive writing.  They should  be ready to publish soon!

All third grade classrooms are continuing to make progress with the Saxon math program.  We would like to encourage all students to practice their math facts at home.  Finally, reading is the cornerstone of any educational success.  Please read with your children and help them to develop a love for literacy.
