The Mission of Times2 Academy for Engineering, Mathematics, Science and
Technology is to address the critical state and national need for equitable
representation of African-Americans, Hispanics and Native Americans in
careers in mathematics, engineering and science. Times2 Academy endeavors to
create a learning environment where all children, but particularly students
of color, are exposed to challenging, real-world applications of
engineering, mathematics and science to elicit and solidify interests in
relevant careers, prepare students for academically rigorous work and build
students’ self-esteem to encourage their belief that they can succeed in
these career fields and in life.
