Elementary

Times² Academy’s elementary program, serving grades K-5, opened in 2002 in response to the critical need for early intervention and development, particularly in literacy, science, and mathematics among minority children in Providence. Like its 6-12 middle and high school partner, the elementary school expects its students to meet challenging academic standards espoused by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) around a mastery core of Math, English, science, and social studies. In addition to addressing RIDE’s GLEs, teachers in the elementary program employ the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s Project 2061 Benchmarks to ensure that all students in K-5 demonstrate mastery of scientific concepts and core knowledge as they pursue opportunities in higher education and related career fields.
